Abstract

This research study was conducted to explore and understand The Perspective of Junior High School Students on online shopping. The study was carried out using a basic qualitative research design and a semi-structured interview as the data collection method. Participants included five (5) junior high school students from Bacolod Trinity Christian School. A set of questions was developed by the researchers to use in the interviews. The participants were asked a list of questions during the semi-structured interview, which gave them the opportunity to freely express their opinions on the research topic. The researchers conducted interviews, encoded the interview recordings, and then divided and categorized the data into concepts and categories for analysis. The results that were gathered by the researchers through the participants’ opinions and perspectives regarding the study are necessary to be part of the study since they provide the information needed by the researchers to be able to complete the research study. The findings of our study reveal that: (1) Teenagers prefer to buy online because it’s cheaper, easier, and faster. (2) Physical stores, compared to online apps, are way more expensive. (3) Teenagers are easily influenced by their peers and families when it comes to purchasing decisions. (4) Online buying benefits include cost comparison across platforms and convenience in accessing a wide range of products, aligning with consumer behavior research highlighting pricing and convenience as key factors.
