Their peers greatly influence students' behavior, overall character, attitudes, decision-making, and academic performance. This study examines students' perspectives on peer influence, emphasizing the advantages and disadvantages in different aspects of a student's life. It was discovered through data analysis and interviews that peers can act as both supporters and critics of a student's academic performance and overall character. A basic qualitative research design was used in this study, which is ideal for examining and comprehending attitudes and experiences. Carefully chosen grade 10 students participated in semi-structured interviews with the researchers, which allowed for a thorough investigation of their perspectives on peer impact and experiences. Semi-structured interviews were employed to gather data, allowing for a flexible but targeted approach. Each participant had one interview. The interviews were analyzed by the researchers using coding qualitative data. Collaborative coding was used after individual coding to allow for a more thorough examination of the data sets and the discovery of each researcher's distinct point of view and dominating and standard codes between several participants. The study demonstrates how peers can affect a person's actions and decisions and emphasizes the noticeable effects of peer influence on students. These factors can alter a student's emotional state, impacting relationships, character, intellectual achievement, and academic performance. It's essential to recognize the impact of peer pressure, particularly in educational environments, and the character of an individual where it is expected.
