Abstract

This phenomenological study explores the lived experiences of student entrepreneurs, seeking to comprehend their distinctive experiences, perspectives, and challenges. Employing purposive sampling techniques, six college and senior high school student entrepreneurs from various academic backgrounds were selected for in-depth interviews. Through qualitative data analysis, codes, categories, and concepts were derived, facilitating the identification of recurring themes and insights. Results reveal that student entrepreneurs (1) balance academic commitments and entrepreneurial pursuits, (2) have achievements and goals, (3) receive support and encouragement from family and friends, (4) experience motivation and inspiration for entrepreneurship, and (5) possess financial stability and resource management. Despite the inherently subjective nature of the data, significant parallels emerged among participants, providing valuable insights into their entrepreneurial journeys. This study sheds light on the intricate dynamics of student entrepreneurship, providing a deeper understanding of their experiences and motivations. Moreover, the findings highlight the multifaceted nature of student entrepreneurship, illustrating how these individuals navigate the complexities of academic and entrepreneurial endeavors simultaneously. The study highlights the significance of familial and social support networks in nurturing entrepreneurial aspirations among students, along with the influence of intrinsic motivation and external inspiration in propelling entrepreneurial endeavors. Additionally, the insights gleaned shed light on the challenges faced by student entrepreneurs, particularly in managing financial resources and balancing academic responsibilities. By delving into the lived experiences of student entrepreneurs, this research contributes to the existing literature on entrepreneurship education and provides valuable implications for educators, policymakers, and practitioners seeking to support and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit among students.
