Abstract

The purpose of the study was to understand the lived experiences of college student entrepreneurs with dual responsibilities of both academic-business ventures. Using qualitative methodology through in-depth interviews involving seven (7) college student entrepreneurs selected through a purposive sampling. Thematic analysis of data revealed core themes including, motivations, challenges, coping strategies, balancing responsibilities, and support of college student entrepreneurs. Findings revealed that interest in entrepreneurial pursuits was predominantly passion-driven entrepreneurship that aligned with the target audience, and encouragement from support systems. Moreover, this study reveals innovative entrepreneurial ideas of student entrepreneurs when faced with challenges. This study concludes with recommendations for student entrepreneurs by prioritizing mental well-being, highlighting the importance of time and stress management, application of academic knowledge into real-world business, personal passion for the business, and stable support systems. This study contributes a deeper understanding of the lives of college student entrepreneurs with the experiences and dynamics that shape their development in both entrepreneurial and academic journeys.
