This research study aims to investigate the different perspectives of Grade 12 students on the use of AI for academic purposes in Bacolod Trinity Christian School. It highlights various thoughts, opinions, feelings and attitudes regarding the ethical considerations and its effects on their learning competencies, skills and critical thinking. Moreover, it also shows the students’ stand on whether AI should be implemented in the education systems and be part of their academic journey. The purpose of this study is to ultimately understand the different perspectives of these students concerning the use of AI for academic purposes. It also aims to fill existing research gaps to provide more information which are significant for future studies in relation to this topic. A Basic Qualitative Research design was utilized for this particular research study. Consequently, a qualitative research method was used for the data collection. Convenience sampling was employed for the selection of the respondents. The respondents were grade 12 students and six of them were selected and interviewed through semi-structured face-to-face and online interviews. The analysis has shown a lot of similarities between the perspectives of each respondents. There were also concerns regarding the ethical issues on the use of AI and its potential impacts to students’ academic growth.
